Biography

Richard was born in 1735. He died in 1788 at the age of 53 - 54.

Richard Belt married Keturah (Price) Belt 1739 - 1790. They were married 1/24/1760 in Baltimore County, Maryland. She was a daughter of John Sr. Price & Rebecca Merryman.

Their children:

  • Benedidt
  • Charlton
  • Isabelle m. William McGaw
  • John m. Sarah Hyfield
  • Milcah m. Jesse Matthews
  • Aquilla Sr. m. Mary Inscho.

Where Richard & Keturah were buried is unknown. Dover Methodist Cemetery wasn't founded until 1808. They could be buried with his parents, where ever that may be. (AFT - John Christian Tanner 1712 - 1784)

Richard's will mentions sons John, Charlton, Aquilla, and Benedict, as well as his wife Keturah; he doesn't name any of his daughters.

Belt-525 and Belt-167 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, need merged

Belt-252 and Belt-167 appear to represent the same person because: Same birth year; same wives. Parents need to be resolved. If these are actually two different Richards, it's unlikely they both married Keturah Price in 1760, so wife needs to be resolved.
