William Browne’s mother was Anne Belwood, the sister of Thomas Belwood alias Belknap. For her will, dated 12 January and proved 4 March 1503 [=1504], see the transcript by Brian Hessick at:

New Info concerning the Belwood family as follows.

There was a family called Belwood at Belton,Lincolnshire, where there was an estate called Temple Belwood and there is a 14th century tomb to Richard de Belwood in Belton Church. It seems that Belton went to the Monson family by the marriage of the daughter (d 1570) of Sir Francis Belwood. Ancestral File # 9RPH-WR

Belwode-1 and Belwood-1 appear to represent the same person because: DOB is estimated, which one is more accurate? otherwise, the same

She was almost certainly baptized in the church at Belton,Lincs and possibly her name may have originated fromthis manor
