The History and Genealogy of the Knowltons of England and America by Charles Henry Wright Stocking (New York : Knickerbocker Press, 1897), p. 128 and p. 137 makes no mention of Mary's parents or family.
"The Bennet Family of Ipswich," by John M. Bradbury, New England Historical and Genealogical Register, (Boston, Massachusetts: NEHGS, 1875) Vol. 29, p. 169 makes no mention of of Mary's spouse.
Henry Bennett's 1739 Portsmouth, New Hampshire, will names three married daughters, but does not mention either Margaret or Mary, whose births were recorded in Ipswich.[5]
A Mary Bennett married John Bragg 28 May 1711, in Ipswich. Mary d/o Henry would be 17 if married in 1703 or 25 if married in 1711. 17 is young and 25 is old to be married. There is no other Mary Bennett birth recorded in Ipswich in an appropriate time frame.
A Mary Bennett, d/o Aaron and Hannah, was born in Manchester, Essex, Massachusetts, 31 Jan 1685.[6] Aaron's 1709 probate lists his daughter's by given name only,[7] so isn't helpful. There were also two Mary Bennett's who married in Manchester in 1725/6 and 1727.[8] So perhaps one of those was the daughter of Aaron.
I looked at land records in Essex: Henry Bennett as grantor[9] and Nathaniel Knowlton as grantee[10]. I don't see anything that connects the two. Nathaniel as grantor[11] should be checked looking for a connection to the Bennett family. None found to 1728.
Mary and Nathaniel didn't name any children Henry.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
No I don't have explicit evidence of the Mary Bennett who married Nathaniel Knowlton is the daughter of Henry Bennett. A Mary was a daughter of Henry Bennett born in Ipswich on 3 March 1685/6. A Mary Bennett was married to Nathaniel Knowlton on 29 April 1703 in Ipswich. Nathaniel Knowlton, his parents, and Henry Bennett all lived in Ipswich their entire lives. This Mary Bennett is the only one born in Essex County between 1675 and 1690, at least in the Mass. Town and Vital Records collection on FamilySearch. So, it's a circumstantial case that the Mary is the same one born to Henry and Frances Bennett.
I did see your list of sources and comments and agree with your hypotheses. So i t's unproven, but I think very likely that they are the same Mary.
Randy, Do you know of any evidence that links Mary Bennett the d/o Henry to Nathaniel Knowlton? There is a marriage record, but how do we know that it's Mary the d/o Henry? See my thoughts in the research section.
