Biography

William Oren Bennett is the son of William Oren Berkley Bennett ( – 1930) and Nancy Elvira Louise Hosey (1881 – 1953).

He was born 18 Nov 1908 in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. Although some family members have listed that he was born in Missouri. The only census record found for him is 1930 and his birthplace is listed as Missouri. ^[1] His death certificate lists Mississippi as his birth place.^[2]

He died on 06 Aug 1983 in Petersburg, Petersburg City, Virginia.^[3]

He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.^[4]

On his death certificate it lists William Oren Berkley Bennett as his father, but there is evidence indicating that his father may have been Leamon Bennett. Per the West Virginia Marriage Index, ^[5] Nancy Hosey married Leamon Bennett in 1898. More research is needed.
