Abraham Bennett was baptised 26 June 1715 at Fairfield, Fairfield, Connecticut as per his DAR Record. Find a Grave lists his parents James Bennett 1675–1725 and Deborah Adams 1678–1748

He may have served in the American Revolution. At this time new sourcing is required for membership to the DAR, SAR. At least six persons have gained DAR membership on his service. The DAR lists his spouse as Silence Hickox and their son Abram Jr. who married Jerusha Wanzer. The SAR lists Abraham Jr with service for New York. ^{[1] [2]}

Find a Grave suggests service as sourced from Assessment & militia rolls of Warwick, New York show listed together the names of Abraham & Abraham, Jr. As late as 1777 Abraham, Sr. received pay for militia service & he was probably alive in 1784 when Abraham, Jr. signed a receipt using Jr. after his name.
