He married, probably to Phoebe Wilson from Sutterton on 10 April 1749 at Boston. She was probably the daughter of Henry Wilson and Bridget, baptised 21 August 1730 at Sutterton. William and Phoebe had two children: William and Phoebe. This daughter, Phoebe died and was buried as an infant on 18 July 1751. William seems to have been close to his brother Henry Bennett and to have died quite early about 1760, probably the William Bennett joyner who was buried at Spalding on 28 January 1752(?). Following William's death Henry supported the son and only child (also called William) and also named him as a beneficiary of his will. I suppose it is possible he raised him, but there is no record of this in the family. An unplaced Phoebe Bennett widow married George Priestly widower of Wickham in Spalding grazier on 22 September 1754 at Spalding [IGI][PR] and Phoebe made her mark in the presence of William Priestly and of John Bladesmith. [marriage bonds MB 1754 /225]
Died 1760 Age: 34-35.
baptised 1 NOV 1725. at Ely in parish register. Probably the William Bennett joyner who was buried at Spalding on 28 January either 1752(?) or 1758?.
