Theny J. was born about 1834, the daughter of William Bennett and Martha Nelson. [1]
She married on 27 May 1851 at Stokes County to Mallory Southern, [2] son of Reuben Southern and Dotia (possibly Burton), and they had three children before Theny died: [3][4]
Amanda, b. abt. 1852-53, m. Benjamin Collins, d. aft. 1880
Eliza, b. abt. 1854-55, d. aft. 1880
Andrew, b. abt. 1857, d. bef. 1870?
Andrew is presumed to have died young, since he did not appear with his father in the 1870 census, when he would have been about 13 years old.
Theny is presumed to have passed away about 1857-58, but no death or burial record could be found for her. She did not appear in the 1860 census and her husband Mallory married again in 1867 to Sarah E. Grogan.
