Disputed parents[1]

According to notes from a fellow researcher "Henry Bennett was the son of Henry Bennett, believed to have been born abt 1621 and died in abt 1650 in Lyme, Connecticut."[2] Henry Bennett II was born in 1647 at Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, Parents were NOT Henry and Lydia (Perkins) Bennett of Ipswich, MA.4,5,6 He married Sarah Champion, daughter of Henry Champion and Sarah (?), on 27 January 1673 at Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, Lyme, CT Records says December 5, 1673.

Henry Bennett died between 28 April 1726 (date of Will) and 18 Feb 1727 (date of estate inventory) at Lyme, New London County, Connecticut.

Biography

Henry and Sarah (Champion) Bennett are recorded in the Mack geneaology.[3]

Henry Bennett and Sarah Champion were married Jan. 27, 1673. Henry died in 1726.[3]

Henry Bennett died in Lyme, New London County, on January 17,1726/7 per Connecticut Town Death Records (Barbour Collection); Lyme Vital Records Volume 1-3, Page 347

Will & Probate

Henry wrote his will 28 April 1726, witnessed by Ebenezer Mack, Jonathan Mack and Nathaniel Metson [sp?]. Named are his loving wife Sarah Bennit, children Henry II, John, Caleb, "Rose Wille[y] on to her children", Sarah Datten, Love Mack, Dorothy Wood, grandsons Caleb and John Bennet, It was proved and entered into the record in New London County Probate 2 Mar 1727. He appointed his, "son John Mack", to be his executor. Inventory was completed 18 Feb 1727.[4]
