Biography

Richard Bennett was born in 1680, in Isle of Wight, Virginia, and died August 2, 1744, in Surry county, Virginia. ^[1] Richard married Mary Beatty and is the father of Amy Bennett, who married William Bobbitt. ^[2]

Researchers Notes

I am not convinced that what follows is correct. There seems to be little evidence to link May Bennett's father back to the early Governor of Virginia. KP

Son of Richard and Elizabeth (Rowsby) Bennett. This Richard was son of Richard and Ann (Longworth) (Utie) Bennett. Richard was son of Thomas and Antsie Tomson (AKA) Spicer.
