Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1810. She passed away in 1856.

Transcribed from a transcription of family records of the Will of Elizabeth K. Bennett, widow of James R Draughon:

In the name of God amen-
I, Elizabeth B. Draughon, being of full health though sound in mind do make and publish this my last will and testament.

1st I reside myself Almighty God, my body to be decently(?) interred(?) at the direction of my executor.
2nd I give him my daughter Augusta Jane Draughon one red painted low turn bedsead(?), bed and furniture Viz;(?) 1 sixth part of all the bed furniture in my house, two silver tablespoons with one small table which she claims is a former gift.
3rd to give to my daughter Rebecca Eliza Draughon one high turn red painted bedstead(?), one bed and furniture equal as above with the former sister and one small table with three silver tablespoons.
4th I give to my daughter Mary Burilla Draughon one white beadstead and the choice(?) bed in my house designated as having bought this ticking, and furniture equal as above with the others, and one small walnut table with one set of silver teaspoons.
5th It is further my will that the remaining beds, bedsteads and bed furniture in my house be sold on a credit of 6 mos and the proceeds equally divided between my 3 sons, Miles Sampson Draughon, James Walter Draughon, and Robert Taylor Draughon all equal.
6th it is my own will that all of the rest of my personal property, Viz: House and chickens, household and kitchen furniture, farming utensils and coops of all kinds, if this is any made, be sold on a credit as above and after paying my last debts and giving to my daughter Martha Elizabeth and Adelia Ann Poole the sum of $5 each, then the remaining proceeds to be equally divided into eight shares, And given to my six youngest children in the manner and form Viz: to my daughter Mary Burilla Draughon, to shares, to my son Robert Taylor Draughon, 1 ½ shares, into my daughter Rebecca Eliza Draughon and Augusta Jane Draughon and my son Miles Sampson Draughon one share each. 7th I constitute and appoint my trust brother Hardy Bennett my executor to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and soul to this my last will sealed this 09th day of June in the year of our lord 1856 in the presence of wit.
