He lived with his wife Margaret, 50 years old and born in Pennsylvnaia, and 8 children: George W., a 28 year old farmer; Melinda, 23 years old; Christopher, a 22 year old farmer; Lydia, 19 years old; Rachel, 17 years old; Margaret, 15 years old; Mariah J., 12 years old; William, 8 years old. All the children were born in Ohio except George, who was born in Pennsylvania. [4]

In 1860, William and his family were enumerated in Richland Township, Guernsey County, Ohio. William was a 73 years old farmer born in Maryland and owned real estate $11,500 and personal property worth $3125. He lived with his wife Margaret, 63 years old, born in Pennsylvania, and 4 children born in Ohio: Mariah, 21 years old; William, 18 years old; Christopher, a 31 year old farm laborer; and Lucy A., 29 years old. In 1870, William and his family were enumerated in Richland Township, Guernsey County, Ohio. William Bennett Sr. was 82 years old, born in Maryland, owned real estate worth $28,500 and personal property worth $4000. He lived with his wife Margaret, 72 years old and born in Pennsylvania, and 3 other Bennetts born in Ohio: Jane, 31 years old; William Jr., a 28 year old farmer; and Martha, 24 years old, who helps her mother-in-law. William Jr. and Martha were married in Dec 1869.[6]

He is buried in Kennonsburg Methodist Church Cemetery in Kennonsburg, Noble County, Ohio.[7]

William was born about 1783. He passed away about 1874.

I believe this William is different from William Bennett (1785-1873), but they are commonly combined into one person on Ancestry family trees and I'm not immediately seeing sources to verify for sure that they aren't the same. More sources verifying parentage and exact dates would help to be able to set these as rejected merges.
