Biography
In 1850, John (25) and Francis (23) Bennet resided in Shelby, Texas, with their daughter Emily (1), and Francis' brother James Crump (age 16).[1]
Thomas and Emily Nolan resided in Shelby, Texas in 1870, with daughter Margaret.[2] In 1900, Thomas and Emily Nolen resided in Shelby, Texas, with children Robert, Elizabeth, Ada, Gusta, and Tainia. Son Daniel Nolen is listed as a boarder in the home.[3] In 1910, Thomas and Emily resided in Shelby, Texas, with children Dan, Bob, Gusta, and Tony.[4]
Emily Nolen was enumerated as mother-in-law of the head of household in Stockman-Arcadia Road, Precinct 8, Shelby County, Texas for the April 14, 1930 census.[5]. She is noted as born 1849 in Texas and widowed.[6] Also included in the household are

In 1940, Dan Nolen resided in Shelby, Texas. His widowed mother, Emily, resided with him.[8]
Emily Lavinnie Bennett Nolen died on 30 Oct 1945; she is buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA, Plot: Peaceful Valley "1" Singles Grave 10.[9] Son Daniel D Nolen died in Cleveland, Texas on Feb 07, 1959.[10] Daughter Augusta Ann [Nolen] Gillespie died on April 24, 1970, in Houston, Texas.[11] Daughter Tisha Elizabeth [Nolen] King died on Jul 25, 1971, in Houston, Texas.[12] Son Tonio V Nolen died on Aug 28, 1974, in Houston, Texas.[13]
