Biography

Sarah Bennet b. in 1709 to Joseph Bennet and Sarah Backus. She Married Nathaniel Carter son of Robert Carter and Hannah Lucas. b. 27 April 1707 in Killingworth Middlesex Ct. on 8 November 1739. THey had a number of children. After leaving Connecticut they traved down to Paupac Pike Pa. it was the edge of willderness and most of the fmaily is Killed by Iroquois/Indians near the Forks of the Delaware now Paupac PA. One un-named child and Nathaniel were also killed with other Mothers and children.

  4. Sarah b. 12/22/1750 kidnapped by Indians, Ransomed at Fort Niagria next spring 1760
  5. Elizabeth b. 08/29/1754 d. 12/05/1832 m. Benjamin Oviatt. kidnapped by Indians, Ransomed at Fort Niagria next spring 1760
  6. Un-named baby died with parents 1759

Death

Fall of 1763 A raid killed the Carter family and their neighbors. Three children were taken captive. the girls later ransomed back. Full story to follow
