Mary Catherine (Mollie) Bennett and James McConnell Simpkins were married 17 March 1879 at Savannah, Hardin County, Tennessee at the home of Jap Baker. Jap Baker was a cousin of Mollie's, and perhaps she was staying at their home at the time. The Bakers gave them a nice wedding. After the Wedding [sic], nice big apples were passed around, then they had a nice meal. Both were born near Savannah, Tennessee and were baptized in the Tennesse River. (A memory of what Bessie told Ione)."[5][6]

Mary and Jim were living in El Reno Ward 3, Canadian, Oklahoma, United States, living with them were their daughter Clara Melton and her husband, Ben, along with their daughter, Ione in El Reno Ward 3, Canadian, Oklahoma, USA on 19 January 1920.[10]
Death
Mary passed away on 25 June 1922 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and she is buried at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.[1]
