Gabriel and Marie-Madeleine Roussel dite Tranchemontagne’s son Joseph was born in Varennes, on Apr. 29, 1701. He married Madeleine Marie Catherine Burel on June 20, 1735, in Varennes. She was born on Nov. 18, 1708 in Varennes - the daughter of Pierre and Marie-Anne Gentes.
Joseph and Madeleine Marie Catherine Burel had 15 children, all born in La Baie-du-Febvre:
Marie Louise (Sept. 1, 1737-?),
Marie Gabrielle (Sept. 1, 1737-?),
Joseph (Mar. 10, 1736-Mar. 12, 1790),
Marie Madeleine (Mar. 16, 1739-Aug. 1739),
Marie Madeleine (May 22, 1740-Aug. 16, 1740),
Marie Angélique (May 22, 1740-Feb. 19, 1741),
Marie Geneviève (Sept. 30, 1741-?),
Jean Baptiste (Apr. 17,1743-?),
Antoine (Nov. 29, 1744-?),
Angélique (Mar. 23, 1747-Mar. 26, 1747),
Marie Josephte (Apr. 11, 1749-Dec. 22, 1749),
Marie Anne (July 26, 1750-?),
Josette (?-?),
Louis Aimable (Mar. 12, 1752-Sept. 1, 1752),
Marie-Josèphe (June 12, 1755-?)
It looks like their family had two sets of twins: Marie Louise and Marie Gabrielle, and Marie Madeleine and Marie Angélique.
Joseph and Madeleine died on the same day, Aug. 30, 1759, in Hôpital Général in Quebec City – this was during the siege of Quebec City by the English – the decisive battle of the Plains of Abraham taking place on the night of September 12 to 13, 1759.
