He married Madeleine Manet about 1800. Children: Isaac, Luc, Paul, George, Olivier, Judith Angelique, Peter (Pierre), Marie Margaret. Both of Boniface's parents were Mi'kmaq.[1][2]
Boniface was husband to Magdelene Manet, who was also Mi'kmaq. [3]
He was the second husband of Marie-Ange Doiron III.
He died on 17 June 1838 in Grand Anse, Acadie, Richmond, Nova Scotia and transported to Margaree for burial on June 17 , 1838.[4]
The Benoit family line goes back to the earliest immigrants from France to Nova Scotia about 1650. Boniface Benoit Sr.'s father is Guillaume Benoit (1705-1752), his father Pierre Benoit (1683-1751), Martin Benoit (1643-1712).[5]
Boniface Benoit Jr. and Magdelene Manet also had a daughter, Marie Marguerite Benoit, married to pioneer Patrick Timmons.
In the History of the Benoit Family. Bernadin Benoit was married in 1794 to Jeanne-Susanne, Bonnevie daughter of Jacques "dit Beaumonr" Bonnevie and Madeleine Thebeau.
