Boniface Benoît is a descendant of an Acadian

Boniface Benoit was born about 1778 in Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia to Boniface Benoit and Marie Josèphe Boucher.

He married Madeleine Manet about 1800. Children: Isaac, Luc, Paul, George, Olivier, Judith Angelique, Peter (Pierre), Marie Margaret. Both of Boniface's parents were Mi'kmaq.[1] [2]

Boniface was husband to Magdelene Manet, who was also Mi'kmaq. [3]

He was the second husband of Marie-Ange Doiron III.

He died on 17 June 1838 in Grand Anse, Acadie, Richmond, Nova Scotia and transported to Margaree for burial on June 17 , 1838.[4]

The Benoit family line goes back to the earliest immigrants from France to Nova Scotia about 1650. Boniface Benoit Sr.'s father is Guillaume Benoit (1705-1752), his father Pierre Benoit (1683-1751), Martin Benoit (1643-1712).[5]

Boniface Benoit Jr. and Magdelene Manet also had a daughter, Marie Marguerite Benoit, married to pioneer Patrick Timmons.

Benoît-343 and Benoit-463 appear to represent the same person because: clear duplicate. Benoit is preferred surname spelling for the Acadian Project. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Familles_Acadiennes#B. However, profile isn't in the project, so PMs please discuss. I recommend merging into Benoit-463 for simplicity and for searching. Thanks
