Biography
Gabriel Amable Benoit was born and baptized on 5 February 1757 in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, son of Jean Benoit dit Livernois and of Marie Anne Gipoulou.[1]
Marriage
Gabriel Amable Benoit dit Livernois married Madeleine Grignon, 22 year old daughter of Alexis Grignon and of Marie Louise Arcan, on 28 July 1777 in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu.[2]
9 known children to the couple, of which triplets died at birth, and 6 married.[3]
Marriage 2
Amable Benoit, widower of Magdeleine Grignon, remarries on 27 Jan 1818 in St-Hyacinthe, Bas-Canada, with Françoise Tessier, widow of François Godbou.[4]
No issue from this marriage.[3]
Death
Amable Benoit dit Livernois, husband of Françoise Tessier, died on 29 March 1831 and was buried on the 30th in Saint-Hyacinthe, the record giving him around 76 years of age.[5]
