Claude Benoit was born sometime in 1686. He was the son of Martin Benoit dit LaBriere and Mare Chaussegros. He lived in Acadia and died before the "Grand Derangement".
Claude Benoit married Jeanne Hebert on 19 January 1711 in Grand Pre. Witnesses were Claude Gautrot, Charles Boudrot, Rene Babin, Pierre Forest & Jean Hebert who signed and Etienne Hebert[2][3]
In the Census of 1714 he is listed as living in Riviere des Habitants with his wife and 2 sons. [4]
Death
He died sometime before 18 November 1743 when he was entered as "deceased" in the parish registry for the marriage of his son Godefroi Benoit on November 18, 1743 to Madeleine Babin.
