Biography

Birth

Bethiah Bent was born at Paris, Maine, on 5 Oct 1802, the daughter of William Bent and Olive Cushman (Besse) Bent.[1] The 1850 census says she was then 47 years old.[2]

Marriage

Bethiah Bent married Tristram Norton of Livermore, Maine.[1][3] Bethiah Bent of Paris, Maine, and Tristram Norton of Livermore, Maine, published their intention to marry at Livermore on 21 Jan 1825.[4]

Death

In 1880, the widow Bethia Norton was living with her son-in-law and daughter, William and Christiana Griffith, at Livermore, Maine, at the age of 77.[5] Bethia (Bent) Norton died in 1891 at the age of 88.[3] Her gravestone at the Kilbreth Cemetery in Livermore is now broken but formerly said that she died on 24 Apr 1891.[6]
