Biography

Experience Bent was born 1669, the son of Joseph Bent and Elizabeth Bourne of Marshfield and Sudbury, Massachusetts^[1]. Orphaned at a young age, Experience and his siblings were raised by their maternal grandparents, John Bourne.

On August 26, 1703, he married Abigail Sampson^{[2] [3]}, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Sampson of Duxbury, Massachusetts^[1]. Their children included:

1. Joseph, born about 1704, who married Jemima Billington
2. Elizabeth, born 1706, who married ̶J̶o̶h̶n̶ Jesse Griffith, and who died August 11, 1743
3. Rachel, who may not have married
4. Alice, who married Barnabas Raymond in Middleboro

He died in Middleboro Mass in 1754 at age 85^[1]

Probate

Experience died intestate and on 12 January 1754, Joseph Bent of Middleborough was granted the administration of his estate.^[4]

His inventory was taken on 29 January 1754 in Middleborough.^[5]

In 1754, an account of his estate was recorded which included the "corroner's" bill, funeral expenses, and debts.^[6]
