The 1830 Census shows only one John Benton in Monroe County, Georgia. It is likely this John's father.
His marriage record gives his middle initial as "H," but the merged profile had "Wilson." More records are needed.
The 1860 Census shows a 16-year-old James Hunt living in John and Phebe's household. No relationship is given.
The 1870 Census shows two apparently unrelated people: George Thomas (age 13) and Retta Saunders (age 40). Their occupations are listed as "Farm labor."

Benton-1240 and Benton-682 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be duplicate sons. The mother is the same, and the father may be, as well, but more research needs to be done to determine if the connections are correct.
