Biography

When Penelope Jane Benton was born on October 19, 1776, in Camden, South Carolina, her father, Col, was 21 and her mother, Elizabeth, was 17. She had two sons and one daughter with William Brockington. She then married Jacquis Bishop MD on November 29, 1803, in South Carolina. She died in 1838 in Florence, South Carolina, at the age of 61.
