The youngest child of Simeon and

Delia Bergeron, Lena was 11 months old when her father was killed in an unfortunate train accident in Keene NH. Her family moved to Brockton Ma in 1906 when she was nineteen years old. She became an accomplished seamstress during her lifetime. Her last employment was with a company that specialized in women's handbags. Her sister Lora moved to Springfield to live with Lena after Lora's husband died. Lora and Lena lived together and were company to each other while taking care of their home on 34 Oak St. for most of the 1940's with the help of their children who lived in the area also. In the early 1950's they went to live with Lena's oldest daughter Laura near Chicopee, Ma, until Lena died at age 87. Her great grand daughter Heidi Dahlby found her in her bed on October 14,1974. Lena did not make a formal will however a letter was found among her personal effects. Although she had very little she had saved enough to leave something for each of her children.
