William Berry was born Oct 10, 1754 in Augusta, Virginia. He first married Rebecca McCleary and they had 7 children: James, George, John, Betsy, Isabel, Nancy, & William. Later William (Sr) married a second time, to Margaret "Peggy" Collins in in Kentucky. They located in St Louis and had four children: Betsy, Sally, Joseph, & Polly. William died Dec 19, 1838 at age 84 yrs, 2 mos, 9 days.
