Jeremiah owned a large estate in Marlborough Plains, near Upper Marlborough, Maryland.
He married Mary Claggett, daughter of Richard Clagett and Deborah Dorsey, before 1730. Jeremiah and Mary were the parents of Jeremiah Jr, Richard, Benjamin, William, Mary, Zachariah, Amelia and Elisha.
Jeremiah made his will on 12 Jul 1787. Proved 12 Nov 1792. To sons Richard, Benjamin, Zachariah & Elisha Berry and daughter Mary Williams, silverware and an equal portion of land called Concord and Outlet. To grandsons William Berry, William Osborn Sprigg, and Jeremiah Williams, slaves, and to granddaughters Mary Douglas and Mary Berry, slaves.
He is buried in the garden of his home. A tombstone was erected in his memory.
