Biography

JOHN BIBLE SON OF CHRISTIAN

The Greene County, Tennessee 1830 tax list indicated John had died and that his estate consisted of 530 acres of land on Lick Creek. The Greene County, Tennessee Inventory of Estates, volumn 1828 to 1854, page 67 and dated January 25, 1830 indicated that John had died and that an inventory of his estate was conducted on August 20, 1829. Peter Cobble and Phillip Fry were administrators of his estate.

Mary and John had three children and possibly more; James Farmer Fry, William Fry and Thomas Fry born in 1830. Thomas was living with his grandmother Elizabeth Bible in 1850(census) and was living with his uncle David Bible in 1860(census). Other possible children are Elizabeth, Phillip and George. It is said that some of these moved to Texas.

Elizabeth, Mary, Christian, George and Adam were John's "full brothers" and sisters. Lewis, Catherine, Jacob, Sarah, Abraham and Isaac were John's "half brothers" and sisters.
