Biography

George Washington Bickel was born on 27 Dec 1803 in Centre, Pennsylvania, United States,[1] son of Thomas Bickel and Barbara (Schaeffer) Bickel.

George married Nancy S. Glassford, daughter of Reuben Glassford and Anna Christina Amsbaugh, on 6 Nov 1828 in Preble County, Ohio.[2] Their children were:

  2. Elizabeth (Bickel) Ashley
  3. Andrew Jackson Bickel
  4. Mariah Bickel
  5. Catherine (Bickel) Harkins
  6. Sarah Jane Bickel
  7. Henrietta (Bickel) Loy
  8. Nancy Ann Bickel
  9. James Albert Bickel
  10. Matilda (Bickel) Runkle.
    George Bickel was a homesteader in Jay County, Indiana. Join the Homesteaders Project.

He purchased eighty acres in Jay County, Indiana. The sale was awarded on 20 March 1837.[3]

George married Sarah Margaret (Imel) Tharp, daughter of John Imel and Sarah Skinner, on 13 Mar 1859 in Jay County, Indiana.[4]

George died on 3 Apr 1877 in Pike Township aged 73. He was interred in the Boundary Cemetery, Pike Township, Indiana.[1]

If Rachel's birth date is correct, George cannot possibly be her father -- he would have been only 2 years old when she was born.

Please read Rachel`s profile. There is unanswered question that need to be answered.
I have been trying to get the answer but there is so much miss information out their about Rachel.
Bickel-119 and Bickel-613 appear to represent the same person because: George had a second wife and she was my 4xgr grandmother. His middle name was Washington. Can you add me to the trusted list for him and his children?
