Uncle Pete, as he was known to his nephews and nieces, bought out the farm, on which he was born, after his father's death in 1943. "Pete" was a Deacon in the McNeil Baptist Church (Caldwell County, TX) and also served as a trustee for the cemetery association. He and Ruby had two beautiful daughters, Jacquelyn and Johnilee.
