Ann died in October, 1712 in Scuppernong, Chowan, Province of North Carolina, aged 67.

The earliest known ancestor, Richard Bachelor (ca. 1645-1682), was born in England and died in Lower Norfolk Co., Va. He married in 1665, Ann Biggs (b. ca. 1644), the daughter of John Biggs and Johannah Norsworthy. Ann married (2) Charles Shaw by 1686 and (3) James Faux/ Fenox/Fewox by Sept. 1688. She moved to Chowan (later Tyrrell) Co., N.C. by 1694. Richard Bachelor had a contract of indentureship to a William Donning of Virginia in return for passage to America. It was registered in the port of Bristol, England on Aug. 27, 1661. His children used the spelling Batchelor. Descendants live in Virginia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Oklahoma, California, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri and elsewhere.
