Biography

Caroline arrived in the United States, in New York, August 18, 1869 aboard the Harmonia from Hamburg, Germany.[1][2] She was married in 1870.[3]

Obituary

Caroline Bachman On Tuesday, June 8, at 11:20 p.m. Caroline Bachman, formerly of Braddock, Pa., passed away in her 87th year. She is survived by her children, Mrs. Joseph Lieberman of Philadel­phia, Mrs. Noah Sunstein of McKeesport, Jesse J. Bachman of Pittsburgh, her sisters Mrs. Lena Bachman, Mrs. Sam May of Chicago, Mrs. Solly Billig, and a brother Dr. Adolph Billig of Detroit, and four grandchildren. Mrs. Bachman was born in Mann­heim, Germany, and has been a resident of Braddock for the past 55 years. She was a member of various charitable organizations. Funeral services were held from the Ralph Schugar Chapel, 5509 Center Avenue, on Friday, June 11, at 10.30 a.m., with interment in West View cemetery.[8]
