Obituary

Sheridan native William Edward Billingsley, 65, of Joliet, Mont., died Thursday, March 10, 2005, in Deaconess Billings Clinic from complications of lung cancer. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Joliet Wesleyan Church. Burial will be in Joliet Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral Chapel of Laurel, Mont. Mr. Billingsley was born Jan. 16, 1940, in Sheridan to William (Pat) and Wavel Shipley Billingsley. He lived in Lodge Grass, Mont., until 1950, when the family moved to Joliet. He graduated from Joliet High School in 1958 and from the University of Montana-Missoula in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business. He married Beverly Cozad on Sept. 1, 1962, in Wheatland while he was in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1965. He worked for Burroughs Corp. before returning to ranching in 1976. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lisa McLean of Lamar, Colo.; a son, Scott of Fargo, N.D.; his parents of Joliet; a sister, Evagene of Shepherd, Mont.; and three grandchildren.
