It has been said by a descendant of their youngest son, Henry Harrison Goodwin, Henry B Goodwin and Jane Billups Goodwin never left Kentucky. She also told me that she had been told by her grandfather, Janes youngest son, that Jane took in laundry to help Henry make money.
I have paid for research in Cabell County, West Virginia and Lawrence County, Kentucky and no Will is on record for Henry B Goodwin or Jane Billups Goodwin.
I personally have purchased and have the copy of Henry and Jane's marriage record.
Jane passed away about 1879. In the 1870 census for Louisa, Lawrence , Kentucky, Jane was living with her daughter Frances Anne Goodwin Williams and son in law Henry James Williams, he was murdered 25 APRIL 1875 and Frances Anne had moved to Kansas by 1880. Janes son, Charles Alexander Goodwin was living next door to Frances Anne in Kansas in 1880, her youngest son Henry Harrison Goodwin was in Jackson County, Missouri. Jane is no where to be found after the 1870 census, which leads me and a Louisa DAR member and researcher to believe Jane has died sometime between 1870 and 1880.
Jane Goodwin was mentioned in the will of her father, Edward Billups (see his profile).[1]
Jane was born about 1815. This date is an estimate, based on her marriage date. Also based on the ages in the 1840 census for Henry B Goodwin in Louisa, Lawrence , Kentucky.
Jane married on 27 June 1833 at Cabell County, West Virginia to Rev. Henry B Goodwin.[2][3] The marriage was performed by Rev. Thomas Harmon.

Reverend Thomas Harmon is related to Sampson Handley, the husband of Jane's sister Susan Webster Billups.
Children of Jane and Henry:
The 1830 Census found Jane living in the household of her father, Edward Billups, age 60-70 living at Cabell County, Virginia. Also in the household were two females, one age 15-20 and one age 20-30.[4][5]
The 1840 US Federal Census found Jane living in the household of her husband, Henry B. Goodwin at Lawrence Co., Kentucky. Henry was listed as a male age 20 to 30. There was one male under age 5, and a total of 7 males age 20 to 30 (including Henry). There was one female under age 5, one age 15 to 20, and one age 20 to 30. There was also one male slave, age 10 to 23.[6][7]
The 1850 US Federal Census found Jane Goodwin age 37, living at Louisa, Lawrence, Kentucky, USA; birth place Virginia. Also in the household:
The 1860 US Federal Census found Jane Goodwin, widow, age 40, living at Louisa, Lawrence Co., Kentucky, USA; birth place Virginia. Also in the household (both born in Kentucky, and neither son was attending school):
The 1870 US Federal Census found Jane Goodwin, age 63, living at Precinct 6, Lawrence Co., Kentucky in the household of her daughter, Frances Ann (Goodwin) Williams and her husband, Henry J. Williams.[12][13]
Jane's grave is on find a grave as unknown. At this time after many researchers and grave walkers, her grave has not been located. It has been said to me by the local Louisa, Kentucky Historical societies that it is very possible any headstone could have decayed crumbled over the years, or there was never a headstone, or by now any burial site for her and her husband Henry B Goodwin could have actually been moved some where to make site for a highway?
