Biography

Timothy Billups

Timothy was born c. 1850 at Hertford, Perquimans County, North Carolina. He is the son of Langley Billups and Martha Ann Wilson.


The 1850 Census for Hertford, Perquimans County, North Carolina found Langley Billups, farmer with real estate valued at $1,400, age 32, with his wife, Martha, age 25, and their children: Thomas Billups, age 7 , Martha Billups, age 6, Sarah F Billups, age 3, Margaret A Billups, age 2, and Timothy Billups, age 0, all born at North Carolina.[1] Langley and Martha could read and write.[1]

Marriage and Children

Timothy married on November 21, 1894, as his 1st, and as her 2nd, Mary Isabel (Bunch) Hurdle (b Jun 28, 1862), daughter of Dr. James M. Bunch and Martha Ann Norcom, and the widow of Williamson Hurdle.[2] Williamson and Mary had two daughters: Martha Norcum (Norcom?), Ivey Bunch.
