Biography

Uncertain Origin

Judith is assumed to have been born after 1673 (the last date her father was reported as living) at Nottoway County, Virginia.[1] The source which mentions her states she was born "ca 1680; daughter of George Billups of Amelia County born 1630 and died 1662 and wife, Sarah Unknown."[1] Uncertain how she was the daughter of George who died in 1662, when she was not born until 1680.

George's wife is sometimes called Sarah Ann White, without evidence.

Judith Ann (Billups) Forrest (abt.1682-1775) (in a proposed merge) has Judith's mother as Ann (Fox) Bullups. George and Sarah are listed as Ann's husband's parents, rather than Ann's husband and his alternate wife.

The children of George Billups, who were mentioned in his will, were sons, George and John and an unnamed daughter.[2] He may have also had a son, Richard, (but no evidence for the daughter's name as Judith).[2]

Marriage and Children

Judith married about 1697 at Nottoway Parish, Amelia County, to Abraham Forrest.(source is user-contributed One World Tree. An appropriate source is sought).[citation needed]

Death and Legacy

Judith is assumed to have died on December 31, 1775, at Amelia County, Virginia (source is user-contributed One World Tree. An appropriate source is sought).[citation needed]

Research Notes

Location Note: Nottoway was formed from Amelia in 1788.[3] Amelia formed from Brunswick and Prince George in 1784-85.[3] Brunswick formed from Isle of Wight and Surry in 1732.[3] Prince George formed from Charles City in 1702-03.[3] Isle of Wight, Surry, and Charles City Counties all existed in 1688.[3]

Billups-370 and Billups-52 are not ready to be merged because: There is still a conflict in the data on the parents of Judith Billups Forrest. On profile 370 several descendant sources list George Billips Jr/Anne Fox as parents rather than George Billups Sr/Sarah which had very early fragmented will date of 1673 listing these children where UNNAMED DAUGHTER Judith was born abt 20 years after the other children: George Billups, Jr b. 1657, d 1716; mar Anne Unknown, inherited father's property

John Billups b. c. 1660, d after 1709; mar Mary Glascock. Richard Billups b. 1661, d 1752. Daughter (unnamed) "Judith Billups" ???Judith's birthdates on sources Billups-370 are similar ca 1780 and married Abraham Forrest 1700-1705. Billups-52 profile lacking sufficient sources for the three sources do not list Judith Billups Forrest.
