Hi David. No relation to the French Foxes, but it sounds very mysterious. Please feel free to forward my info to Tiffany. She and you both appear as descendants of this David Hamilton, as mentioned, dating from Scotland 1725, died 1801 York County, SC, USA. I'm curious which line she is derived from... perhaps on her mother's side?

Feel free to forward her my email too!

Hello David (& Tiffany):

I saw on wikitree that you are listed as a descendant of David Hamilton 1725-1801. I would like to know if that is correct, and if so, we are a match through that line! I compared Tiffany's DNA to my father's GED # and there are 8 segments matching, largest at 3.9. His GED # is XU7919291. Our Hamiltons go down from his son David Hamilton Jr, then his daughter Bersheba Hamilton, her son David Hamilton Fraser, then Amanda Fraser, and her son Elijah Hamilton Martin... to me. I've been working hard to try to find the link between our Hamiltons and Scotland/Ireland. Would love to chat and compare notes. I've found over 70 Hamiltons I match with and we are all trying to figure it out. I've also found that we are DNA matches to a John Hamilton who was from Virginia and Archibald Hamilton. Two separate lines, but both match DNA so they must connect as cousins. I look forward to hearing from you, and if you are interested, I've got a Facebook group for our Hamiltons. I defer to my daughter Tiffany on genealogical matters, and know nothing of the Hamilton connection in our tree.

Of interest with the name Fox: There is a large family with French connections who have a summer house on LI Sound in Old Lyme CT (they used to hang out the French flag on family reunions at the beach). Is that a connection you have? David Bingham
