Biography

Emma was the daughter of John Binkley and Mary Eliza Jane Misener.

Emma Jane was born on April 27, 1875, the daughter of John Franklin Binkley, farmer, and Mary Eliza Jane Misener, of Barton Township, Wentworth County, Ontario.

She was married to Maurice Ralston in 1913. Their marriage record reads:

Maurice Albert Ralston, 25, residing in Hamilton, born in Canada, bachelor, driver, son of Henry [Ralston] & Selina Horning, married
Emma J. Binkley, 28, residing in Hamilton, born in Canada, spinster, daughter of John [Binkley] and Jennie Misener,
Witnesses: Lily L. Johnston, Hamilton; Eva Gunn, Hamilton,
On November 18, 1913, in Hamilton, Ontario, by Rev. C.O. Johnston of the First Methodist Church.

In 1949 Emma was living in Ancaster, Ontario.

She died in 1961. Her headstone gives only her year of death, but the Find A Grave memorial gives a full date as noted above. Find A Grave also gives her place of death as Ancaster, but that is the only current source.

Emma was buried at White Brick Cemetery, in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada.
