Biography

Amelia Bishop was born in 1819 in Walton, Somerset, England to William Bishop, a farmer, and Mary (Edwards) Bishop - she was christened on 17 Oct 1819 at Holy Trinity in Walton.[1]

In 1841 Amelia Bishop (age 20-24) lived in Walton with her father William (60-64), mother Mary (55-59), and sister Aquila (15-19).[2]

Amelia Bishop (of full age, daughter of William Bishop, Labourer) married Robert Perry (of full age, Labourer, son of James Perry, Labourer) on 16 Aug 1845 at Holy Trinity in Walton - witnesses were James Perry, Hannah Perry, Richard Higdon, William Pitman, & Aquila Bishop.[3] The marriage was registered in Wells, Somerset in the third quarter of the year.[4]

Amelia and Robert had seven children:

  3. Frank Perry (1850-)
  4. Eli Perry (1853-)
  5. Arthur Perry (1856-)
  6. Mary Bishop (Perry) Richards (1860-1909)
  7. Amelia Perry (1863-1874)

In 1851 Amelia Perry (age 33, Emp At Home) lived in Walton with her husband Robert (36, Ag Lab) and two sons: Josiah (3) and Frank (0).[5]

In 1861 Amelia Perry (age 41) lived at Ashey in Walton with her husband Robert (46, Agricultural Labourer) and five children: Josiah (13, Plough Boy), Frank (11, Cripple), Eli (8, Scholar), Arthur (5, Scholar), and Mary B (1).[6]

Amelia Perry passed away on 1 Mar 1863, aged 43 years. Her death was registered in Wells in the first quarter of the year.[7] She was buried in Walton on 6 Mar 1863.[8]
