Biography
Samuel Bishop appears to be the third of 13 children born in England to William Bishop and Jane Baglin in the year 1849.
He married Jane Witchell in Stroud Gloucestershire England in 1874 and they appear to have 11 children.
SHIPPING- Bishop - It is very likely he immigrated to Qld. Aus. on the ship "Gauntlet" arriving on 7 January 1876 at the age of 26 years with his wife Jane Witchell whose age was 22 years. Their infant son George Edward born in England died during the voyage to Qld.. Travelling with them was his brother Charles Bishop and Fanny [Harris] Bishop and their son William Charles Bishop who died in Qld. in 1876.
His death occurred in N.S.W. Aus. and it was registered at Waverley.
