Biography

Catherine Cyrilda (Other spellings Sarilda, Serildia) Bishop was born November 25, 1842, in Marissa Township located in St. Clair County, Illinois or Clay County, Illinois.

Her parents were Nathan Bishop born about 1815 and Rebecca Rawlings born October 11th, 1818, in Henry Co., Kentucky. [1]

Catherine's mother Rebecca Rawlings remarried Samuel Wanthing, 22 OCT 1846 in Marion Co., Illinois. All the children were living with Samuel and mom Rebbeca after her husband Nathaniel passed. [2] By the 1860 Census, Catherine age 18, and her brother Nathaniel were living in Township 15. S. R. 5 E, Massac, Illinois, United States, with the Wanthing (or Wantland) family. [3]

She married Benjamin Franklin Chadwick on November 16th, 1842, in Clay Co., Illinois. [4]

Cora passed at age 3 and Frank died at 15 years old. [5]

At age 54 Benjamin Franklin Chadwick passed away from Bilious Fever.

In 1900 she is found on a Musselfork TS Clairton, Missouri census married to David W. Strickler, for 15 yrs. He was born Nov. 1838 in PA. They married 11 Sep 1884, in Clairton. (There is a photo of David and Catherine in possession of this profile manager). [6][7]

Sarilda Catherine Bishop Chadwick passed away September 5, 1932 at death; 89 years 9 months 10 days in Musselfork, Chariton County Missouri, USA. [8] She buried in Corinth Cemetery Musselfork, Chariton County Missouri, USA. [9]
