Biography

Jonathan was born in 1820. He was the son of Charles Bishop and Susanna Rogers.

He married 9 Jun 1850 in Parrsboro, Sarah Jane Bennett. She was born 24 Mar 1831 and died 19 Jul 1909 in Wharton, Cumberland Co.

In 1861, Jonathan was residing in Mill Village, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia with a family consisting of 1 female under 1 [Susan], 1 m 3-4 [William], 1 f 4-5 [Matilda J.], 2 f 5-10 [Mary J., Sophronia], 1 mar. m 30-40 [himself] and, 1 mar. female 30-40 [Jane, his wife] .

In 1871, Jonathan, farmer, 44, Jane, 40, Sophronia, 17, Matilda Jane, 15, William, 13, Susan, 11, James E., 9, Jonathan S., 7, Charles Albert, 5 and Margaret F., 1 were residing in Mill Village, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia.

In 1881, Jonathan, farmer, 60, Jane, 57, William, 22, Susan, 21, James E., 18, Leander, 16, Charles A., 14, Margaret, 10 and Wesley, 6 were residing in Parrsboro, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia.

He passed away in 1889.

In 1891, Jane, farmer, widow, 61, James, 28, John [sic], 26, Charles, 23 and Wesley, 16 were residing in Mills, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia.
