Birth

It can be ascertained that Joseph Bishop born about 1767 because he was minor and under the age of 21 years old on 18 January 1785 upon his petition appointing Edward Hunter to be his guardian.[1]

Joseph Bishop was mentioned in the petition of the children and the heirs of Thomas Bishop on June 29, 1784 in Orphans' Court in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The one full and equal tenth part thereof by meter and bounds to and for Thomas Bishop's son, Joseph Bishop.[3]

At an orphans Court held and kept at Chester for the County of Chester eighteen day of January anno domini 1785 Before John Pearson Gerge Peirce Edward Vernon and Thomas Levi Esqr. Justices present

Upon the petition of Joseph Bishop and Betty Two of the children of Thomas Bishop senr. late of Edgmont decd. who are minor and under the Age of twenty one years, Edward Hunter is by this Court admitted and appointed their Guardian.[1]
