Joseph Bishop was mentioned in the petition of the children and the heirs of Thomas Bishop on June 29, 1784 in Orphans' Court in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The one full and equal tenth part thereof by meter and bounds to and for Thomas Bishop's son, Joseph Bishop.[3]

Upon the petition of Joseph Bishop and Betty Two of the children of Thomas Bishop senr. late of Edgmont decd. who are minor and under the Age of twenty one years, Edward Hunter is by this Court admitted and appointed their Guardian.[1]
