Note

  • In 1752 the calendar in England changed from old style to new style. Previous to 1752 the new year began on March 25th in 1752 it was changed and began January 1st. Dates prior to 1752 occurring between January 1st and March 24th will be recorded as dual years to reflect the change.
  • Previous estimated date of birth was based on the baptism source. The birth record and full baptism transcription have been located. This shows that he was born a few years before his baptism which is noted on the baptism.
  • Described as a blacksmith and nailer. Owned a mill in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
  • Moved to Narragansett, Rhode Island by 1728.

Bissell-65 and Bissell-60 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates

I believe his death year may be an error, I can not locate a source. It appears that he is actually a duplicate of his alleged brother who is stated to have been born in 1686. This Samuel was born in 1682/3 (date due to calendar change). He was not baptized until 1686, it appears that at some point someone thought that they were two different people due to the few years between the birth and the baptism.
