Biography

Peter Bither was born around 1753 in Portsmouth, England. He settled in Limington, Maine, around 1783.[1]

Peter served as a corporal in the Massachusetts militia during the American Revolution. He also had service as a private. He served with Captains Williams, Josiah Jenkins - Cumberland County Militia, and Sewell, and with Colonels Phinney, Brewer, and Sprout. Pension Number: S36913 [2]

He married Eunice Strout on 4 February 1777 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. They had eleven children:[1]

Peter passed away on 4 March 1827 and is buried in Hillside Cemetery in Bradford, Maine[3].
