Biography

Peter was a son of Abraham Pitsenberger and Elizabeth (Tiessinger/Dysinger). He was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania and was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church. [1]

Prior going to Ohio, Peter lived in Shenandoah Co, Virginia, and in Greene Co., Tennessee.

He was the husband of Mary Magdaline Fry, daughter of John Fry and Wilhelmina Philippina "Phebe" Bauze/Banze. [2] She was born on 24 July 1789, Shenandoah Co., Virginia

Peter died in 1837 and is buried at the Yoder Cemetery, Darke County, Ohio. [3] NOTE: The original name of the cemetery in which Peter is buried was Pittsenbarger-Yoder Cemetery

Johann Peter was baptized in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1773. He was not born in Tennessee which didn't exist at that time.

Pitsenbarger-135 and Pitsenbarger-9 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly meant to be the same man. German naming traditions usually gave all sons the same saint's name as a forename, the second name was the one they were actually called by.

Pitsenbarger-9 and Bitzberger-4 are not ready to be merged because: Based on sibling birth dates and location there is an obvious error in the data. Could be legitimate but I doubt it.r
