Biography

Irene Black wed Simpson G Dodd October 20, 1887 in Calhoun County, Alabama as seen in an image of the original marriage register.[1]

Irene Dodd was enumerated as wife of the head of household in Euharlee Militia District 851, Bartow County, Georgia for the June 26, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born February 1869 in Alabama and had been married for twelve years. She was the mother of eight children of which all were still living. Also included in the household are head Simpson G Dodd, son Roger Dodd, son Frederick G Dodd, son Horace Dodd, son Julius Dodd, daughter Annie May Dodd, daughter Mary F Dodd, daughter Ruby Irene Dodd and son Hubert Dodd as seen in an image of the original census.[2]

Irene M Dodd was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Island Ford Road, Euharlee, Bartow County, Georgia for the April 22, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1866 in Alabama and had been married twenty-three years. She was the mother of thirteen children of which twelve were still living as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head S G Dodd, son Fred Dodd, son Horrace Dodd, son Julius Dodd, daughter Annie Dodd, daughter Francis Dodd, daughter Rubie Dodd, son Hubert Dodd, son Simpson Dodd, son Clifton Dodd, son (daughter) Hugh B Dodd and son Albert Dodd.[3]

Irene M Dodd was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Alpine District, Chattooga County, Georgia for the January 8, United States Census, 1920. She was noted as born 1868 in Alabama and married as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Simpson G Dodd, son Fred C Dodd, daughter Ruby J Dodd, son Simpson D Dodd, son Cliff E Dodd, daughter Hugh Belle Dodd, son Albert Dodd and son Harry Dodd.[4]

Irene M Dodd was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Alpine - Menlo Road, Menlo, Chattooga County, Georgia for the April 17, United States Census, 1930. She was noted as born 1867 in Alabama and married. She was first married at the age of twenty as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Simpson G Dodd, son Fred C Dodd, son Albert Dodd and son Harry Dodd.[5]

Irene M Dodd was listed as the wife of Simpson G Dodd who died December 16, 1931 in Menlo, Chattooga County, Georgia.[6]

Mrs. Irene Dodd (mother) was listed as the person that "Will always know your address" when her son Albert Dodd registered for active duty as shown in this United States World War II Draft Registration Cards, 1942 as seen in this image of the original form.[7]

Lottie Dodd was enumerated at Fernandina, Nassau County, Florida for the April 10, Florida State Census, 1945. He was noted as born 1889 in Georgia. His degree of education was 2 years college and he was a banker as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are Roger Dodd, Lottie Dodd, Roger Dodd Jr., Edna Dodd and Roger Dodd 3rd.[8]

Matillia Irene Black was listed as the mother of Harry Dodd who died January 20, 1968 in Ft. Payne, DeKalb County, Alabama. The father was listed as Simpson G. Dodd and the wife Mary Lee Thompson Dodd.[9]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[10] Irene Matilda Black Dodd is buried at Alpine Community Church and Cemetery in Menlo, Chattooga County, Georgia.[11]
