Biography

Margaret Emeline Blackburn was born on September 8, 1826 in Perry County, Alabama to Daniel Blackburn and Elizabeth Battle.

On May 1, 1845 she married Oliver D Tankersley in Perry County, Alabama and together they had one child, George Washington Tankersley Blackburn born in February 1846.

In the autumn of 1846 Margaret marries her second husband, James Nixon, and together they have two children, James and Fannie.
