Biography
Laurel Kenneth Blackburn was born in Ness City, Kansas to George and Lena Blackburn. Family records give his date of birth as June 9th, 1899, and that he married Lucy Cahoon on June 22nd, 1920 and their child was Ramona Blackburn, but those details have not been verified anywhere else.[1]
The 1930 United States Federal Census shows Laurel, age 30 (born about 1900), living in Forrester, Ness County, Kansas. He is living with his brother Theodore (age 25, born 1905) and Theodore's wife Ellen K. Blackburn (age 23, born 1907).[2]
The 1940 United States Federal Census has Laurel, age 40 (born about 1900), living at 630 West 1St Street Precinct 28 Larimer, CO. His martial status is Divorced. He is also still living with his brother Theodore (age 35, born 1905) and Theodore's wife Ellen K. Blackburn (age 33, born 1907). Laurel and his brother both give their occupation as carpenter.[3]
Laurel is buried in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA, Plot: Z 0 1967.[4]
