Biography
Mildred was born September 24th, 1901 in Ness City, Kansas to George and Lena Blackburn. She married Bertrand Hougland there on November 11th, 1921. Their children included Wilma Lorraine Hougland and Robert Wayne Hougland.[1]
The 1920 United States Federal Census shows Mildred, age 18 (born about 1902), living in Ness County, Kansas. She is living with her father George L. Blackburn (age 66, born 1854) and her mother Lena L. Blackburn (age 56, born 1864).[2]
The 1930 United States Federal Census has Mildred, age 28 (born 1902), living in Tribune, Greeley County, Kansas. She is living with her husband Bert P. Hougland (age 31, born 1899), daughter Wilhma L. Hougland (age 7, born 1923), and son Robert W. Hougland (age 4, born 1926).[3]
The 1940 United States Federal Census shows Mildred, age 38 (born about 1902), living in Loveland, Larimer County, Colorado. She is listed as a widow and living with her daughter Laraine W. Hougland (age 17, born 1923).[4]
Mildred died on January 10th, 1988. She is buried in Fort Lyon National Cemetery, Fort Lyon, Bent County, Colorado. Her plot is A, R2 L-6F.[5]
The Social Security Administration lists her birth date as September 21st, 1901, her death date as January 15th, 1988, and Denver, Colorado 80220 as her address.[6]
