Biography

Samuel Blackman was born in about 1780 in Rutland County, Vermont. Samuel is the son of Ephraim Blackman and Orpha Church. In 1795 Ephraim moves the family to Lower Canada in the District of York (present day Toronto, Ontario), Sub-district of Argenteuil/Chatham, Gore County (present day Ontario).

By 1825 Samuel has died as the 1825 Census of Canada shows that a "Widow of Samuel Blackman" with 4 children are residing in York Township.
