Sheriff's office 1903; serviced Gt. War A.I.F. 1917-19, France and Belgium, 43rd Battn., 18th Battn. and Aus. Corps H.Q.; Marshal in Admiralty, Deputy Marshal High Court of Australia, Chief Probation Officer and Returning Officer, Adelaide Dist.; Comptr. of Prisons, Oct. 18, 1935; keenly interested in Literary and Debating Societies; for number of years Sec., then Vice-Pres. Hindmarsh C. of E. Literary Socy.: m. Nov, 12, 1912, Ada Levinia, d. late Herbert Tolhurst, 2 d.; recreations, tennis, gardening, reading; address, 44 Howard Tce., Hazelwood Park, S.A."[3]
